Issues with Notepad++

por matatat » Mié Nov 15, 2017 6:21 pm

I'm completely new to coding and have literally just started.

I created a HTML test page in Notepad++ and ran it with Chrome via the built-in feature (it's the shortcut ctrl+alt+shift+r). The page just displays as the HTML code, rather than the result it should be.

I'll paste what I've done so far:

Código: Seleccionar todo
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
   <head>
      <title>This is a test!</title>
   </head>
   <body>
      <p>Hello there. Click <a href="google.co.uk">this!</a></p>
   </body>
</html>

Can anyone see what's wrong?
Thank you

Looks like this is not the correct way of opening a html file in Chrome, try: "Ctrl+O" - Open a file in the browser.

Working on notepad or notepad++, you should save the file in html.

Whatever you write in notepad it saves as a text file. (filename.txt)
Here you need to save the same file in html like. (filename.html) Just put (.html) with your file name to be able to see it on any browser.

So, whenever you visit the file it will open in the browser as html file. To edit it you can anytime open it in text editor. Just right click and open it with notepad++ or notepad. And always save it as html file.
